Hello 2016!

Happy 2016 everyone!!

Another year, hun?
Can't believe how 2015 just flew by!! Everyone says that, right?
Well, it's true!

So much happened this past year... It's strange to kiss it goodbye really, there were so many new things that found their way into my life in 2015!
I'm pretty sure it'll be a year I'll never forget.
It's when I moved here, to the UK! If that was a good thing or not, only time will tell, but it was definitely something remarkable!

And now, we say hello to a new year!
I'm not usually a very 'New Year, New Me! Resolutions!! Bla bla bla' person. I don't find it that affective really!
I did try that, writing resolutions and all, but after a while they were just left in a piece of paper somewhere, forgotten!
I have had a few days in my life when something happened and I went 'Ok, change time!!', and actually worked for it, and made it (or I'm still making it!).
None of this days was ever a 31st of December of the 1st of January.

I do believe in retrospective.
Being a naturally nostalgic person, I don't think that comes as a shock to anyone!

But I also believe in making wishes.
Not resolutions, things you are supposed to completely change on the first day of the year and keep forever.
Wishes, dreams.

Things that you want to achieve in a near future, and that you are willing to work for.

I find it a good idea to make a list a place it somewhere you'll look at everyday, make a board you can pin it on, a frame, a wall you can stick it too... anywhere!

Looking at it everyday and making yourself constantly reminded of what you want to achieve.

Some people might say this is the exact same thing as a resolution list.
It isn't.
A resolution list will tell you the behaviour you need to change, the actions you need to take. These are, most times, truly hard to do and will take your motivation away!
Take this example: if you write "Go to the gym once a week", all you'll see when you look at it is 'oh damn it I have to go to the gym, workout, get sweaty and tired!".

In a wish list though, you'd write something like "I want to weight ...kg." or "Feel healthy."
Yes, you still have to go to the gym, get sweaty and tired! But that's not what you will see when you read this on on your list.
What you'll get from it is 'Look how strong and confident I'll be then! I can't wait! I have to go work for this!'.

That's the key!
You need MOTIVATION, not the opposite!

If you can, add picture or anything that reminds you of what you want to achieve. It will help you visualize it better and give you that extra push, because you don't just imagine it: you see it.

I'll give you an example.
This is my 2016 wish list:

Can you see what I mean? I wrote "Be in my ideal weight" instead of "Going to the gym every week", and "Declutter my Life" instead of "Throw away all the things I don't use" or "Stop being friends with people who are negative".
Those things are really hard to do!
But if I'm looking at the possible result, it's a bit easier to go through them.

Finally, I'll say this: get out there and make those wishes come to life!!
None of this is worth it if you just look at you list all day and do nothing about it!

Get out, change something.

And watch all your dreams come true.

Hearts Hugs and Kisses

Ella
