Why Renée Zellweger... Why?

So I recently saw this...

If it's your fisrt time looking at that... I know... I know...

First of all, I must say that I respect people's choices and that I do know I have nothing to do with her life. It's her face and she does whatever she wants with it! And I've heard she said she feels as happy as she ever was so... more power to her.

Now with that being said, I must say this: it scares me.

Not her face or what she looks like, but the fact that such a change can be possible!

What I mean is, after I saw this, my first tough was "Oh my god, they can actually give a person a totally different face!", which led me to "Does this mean you can make anyone look like anything you want?", which finally made me ask "Can we all end up looking the same??".

And that's it. That's what I'm scared of.

Considering the huge change that you can clearly see in Renée, how can you not wonder if, one day pretty soon, people can all start make this sort of surgeries and make themselves look all the same!

And if this happens... where is individuality? Where's uniqueness?

We all know that the beauty standards we live by are pretty restricted at this point... So what does that mean?
That sooner or latter we'll all be able to have the same nose, the same eyes, the same cheeks, the same hair, the same body... the same EVERYTHING??

Is that it??

And I'm pretty sure lots of people would just love to be able to do that. To have the exact same face as their favorite actress or model or whatever.

But then... where's humanity?

Humanity is beautiful because each individual is different!

The beauty is in the fact that we, as a group, complete each other, because everyone has something no one else does!
Looks and personality!

We are all different, and that's why we are all beautiful.

So are these plastic surgeries going to take that away from us??

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand why they're necessary and a serious science improvement! No doubt on that!
I mean there are people who lose parts or their body/face on accidents or because of some diseases or something of that sort that have all the right to want back!

But... aren't thing being taken to far?

It makes me wonder if at some point the word won't just turn into a huge community of plastic dolls... Like in Uglies (yes, the book by Scott Westerfeld)!!!

I truly hope not...

Lastly, I just wanna leave out there that I do wish Renée Zellweger the best and that I hope she does feel has happy as I heard, no matter what she looks like.I've always been a huge fan of her acting (I mean, come on, she´s ROXY!), and I'm pretty sure that won't change with a plastic surgery! So my best wishes to you, Renée!

So anyway, what's your opinion on this matter??Let me now on the comments, I'd love to speak with you!!
