You help me, I help you.

Today, for probably the 1st time ever, I gave money to a homeless person.
Why had I never done it before?
Because I rather give them something, like food or a warm drink. Which I have done before, for the sole reason  want to help.

But not money, for the simple reason that I don't know if they'll use it too feed themselves or too feed an addiction.
But today I actually gave money, because I trust he'll use it well.

Why?
Because he helped me.

If it wasn't for him, my debit card would have been taken away but the ATM machine!
But he warned me.
He called out to me and told me that the last 3 people who tried to using that machine saw their cards being swalloed by it.

He didn't have to say anything! Why would he care? But he did.
I thanked him and walked along, but his kindness stayed with me. So, I decided to get him a warm cupo of tea, since it's freaking cold out here! But the only place were I could get one had a huge line and I didn't have much time.
So I made a quick decision. He had helped me, so I wanted to help him in the one way I could in that moment. And that was the coins in my wallet.
I walked over to him and placed them inside his openned bonet on the floor and wished him Happy Holidays (the Xmas market here just started so it is more than appropriate!!).
And then he looked me in the eyes.

He had the most beautiful pair of blue eyes.
And they were shining.
He had beautiful, shiny, blue eyes.

He thanked me with so much honesty I would have never doubted his words.
And then I told him:

"You helped me, so I'm helping you"

Isn't that how the world should work?
