The Maze Runner

Hello everyone!!

Today I thought I would do a review of the last movie I watched: The Maze Runner.

I had to major reasons why I wanted to watch this movie: the first one was the fact that many actors that I really love (I'll mention some a bit more ahead) were in it, which obviously made me wanna watch it; and also I heard Elle Fowler speak about The Maze Runner book a while back, and since then I've been very curious to read it. So when I heard it was coming out as a movie, I figured I'd watch it 1st and then read the book, if the story was interesting for me.



I will say I was expecting a bit more from the story! Over all I did like it, but there was a point in the movie where my expectations got really high and then... well it ended up being a bit less than I expected, but it was still good!
And the ending was like... Is this the end?? It felt like there should be some more!!
Well, honestly that left me exited for the next one, which I guess was the point!!



But my favorite thing about this movie was definitely the acting! There are a ton of actors in this movie I really like and I was very exited to see how they'd take on this one. And, in my opinion, they did an amazing job!!

Thomas Brodie-Sangster is one of my favorite young actors! Everyone found him adorable in Nany McPhee (me very very included), but if you've seen Death of a Superhero and My Left Hand Man, you know how talented he is.
Newt is probably my favorite character on The Maze Runner (or Chuck... hard to decide!!), and I feel like Thomas Sangster did a great job in making him even more likable!

Yes yes, like mostly everyone, fell in love with him as Styles on Teen Wolf!! And as the cute nerd on The Internship as well... And in The First Time... Ok fine, every project I've seen that Dylan O'Brien is in I loved, k??
And this one was no exception!! He really was the perfect choice for Thomas, no doubt at all! I really liked his performance on the movie, and I can't wait to see him in the next one!!

I was so glad to see Will Poulter's name of the cast list!! I vaguely remembered seeing him in Son of Rambow, but it was after watching The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader that I started having an alarm for every movie this guy is in!!
He was hilarious in We're the Millers, and I really liked watching him in Plastic as well!
So when I heard he'd be in this movie, I just knew I had to watch it!!
And I think he did a tremendous job! Gally was a very good character and Will just gave it real life! Loved it!!



There were many other actors in this film that stood out for sure (Aml Ameen, Ki Hong Li, Blake Cooper, Kaya Scodelario...). I feel like they picked a really good cast over all!

And the movie was very fun to watch!!


So to me, this was a 3.5 out of 5! The actors were really good, the story was interesting but it felt like there was something missing. Maybe it's in the next movies?? Hope so!!!
